I'm Andy, a visual designer who spends his days in his office perfecting pixels and crunching code. Starting out in 2010, fresh faced from University, I was a front end developer but always enjoyed designing more; alot more. As the years have gone on, I've been designing more and more and coding less and less, however I feel it's important to understand both as I can push the boundaries with design, knowing the limitations. Below are the services I've provided for clients around the world, I'd love to do the same for you too.
That's me working away in my little office. Just incase you wanted to put a face to the work.
Spending hours moving and shaping pixels in Sketch, I aim to provide beautiful designs to make your User Interfaces functional, yet a beautiful experience for your target audience.
Starting by understanding the company's core values, I love to work with clients to create or refresh their image. Crafting numerous concepts until we both adore the final design.
Currently my most frequent projects have been creating interfaces for mobile applications. Recently leaving my role as the senior designer at a prolific app development company has allowed me the opportunity to focus more on freelance work, the jobs I really love.
I've been a developer since I started, despite not doing it as frequently, I still enjoy bringing my own designs to life. This way I get to code my designs exactly how I intended them to look and nothing gets lost in translation.
I've been using this CMS since back in the early days and it never ceases to amaze me with it's functionality. I still keep up to date with all the developments and use it should a client ever need a more complicated website coding.
Ever since I left school I have been designing in some form or another. Whether it was an basic one page website for University or designing and building Wordpress websites in my first role as a junior web designer. Now with over 10 years experience I am still always learning and improving.
It's what makes me love my job, I adore the challenges that each client can bring. Every time I get an email I never know what the project may hold and it keeps me excited. I recently stepped down from my position as a senior designer to get this thrill back in my day to day job.
I focus on keeping things simple, my ethos is to maintain a clean, usable style. I love taking an over complicated dashboard, form or interface and transforming it into a more usable platform, thus improving conversions and engagement.
The truth? Nothing. It's the year I was born, I have such a common name it was always impossible to get handles/domains so I added the 88. I guess it's my way of pretending I'm a footballer or something.
I'm a bit of hippy when it comes to music, I'm obsessed with Trance music, I honestly think it increases my productivity by about 110%. Never tried it? Start here, you'll probably know a few already.
